Become an educated consumer. Know what you
are buying. Most manufacturers are making low cost computers with "all
in one" system motherboards and proprietary hardware including
memory, CD Drives, and even floppy drives. In some cases, such as Compaq,
they use a special maintenance partition on their hard drives that controls
the diagnostics and configuration of the computer that will cause you
trouble at some point in time. Most of these companies also make a better
quality computer, which is the quality where our line of computers start.
Some call it a "business class" computer. You get what you
pay for. We have been building computers for over 15 years now, and
we are still at the same location that we started in. Our computers
have a quality case and you can see the difference. We use a quality
standard ATX motherboard, and we use quality standard drives and memory.
Our system is expandable without the limitations of "manufacturer
specific" hardware. You get a Windows CD, rather than a restore
CD. You get the driver disks and are in complete control. Some of these
manufacturers have even started a "build to order" program
thinking they can compete with these computers that we build - the message
they still didn't get, is that we use "open architecture"
and they don't. We can configure a computer for you with what you want.
It's servicable with standard low cost components. This is our only
pitch. We make more money on service on these other computers.
